Russians launch 71 attacks on Kherson region on Jan 1, one person killed
Yaroslav Yanushevych, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"Russian invaders shelled the territory of the Kherson region 71 times. The enemy attacked peaceful settlements in the region with artillery, MLRS, mortars and tanks," Yanushevych wrote.
The Russian army launched 30 attacks on Kherson. Enemy shells hit power lines, the regional children's hospital, a swimming pool, private and apartment buildings, the report said.
Russian aggressors also shelled settlements in the Beryslav district, injuring one person.
"Information regarding the consequences of enemy shelling in the Beryslav district for the past day, January 1. The Russian army does not stop striking the population centers of the Beryslav district", Volodymyr Litvinov, the head of the Beryslav District Military Administration, wrote on Telegram.
The Beryslav, Novoraisk, Novooleksandrivka, Mylove and Tiahynka territorial communities came under enemy fire on January 1. Among them are the city of Beryslav and the villages of Krupytsia, Havrylivka, Dudchany, Respublikanets, Tiahynka and Lvove.
Russian shelling damaged apartment blocks, private residential buildings and outbuildings, the district military administration said.
According to Litvinov, an enemy attack on the village of Lvove left one person injured.
In general, according to Yanushevych, one person was killed in Russian shelling of the Kherson region over the past 24 hours, and four others were injured.
