“49 members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are learning to provide battlefield trauma care in the UK. This is the first combat medical training course of its kind delivered by the British Army together with partners from the Netherlands and Iceland,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted on Facebook.
Ukrainians are trained to triage mass casualties with a range of different injuries; treat casualties with major injuries caused by blasts and small arms fire; treat and safely extract patients from civilian and military vehicles; extract casualties under fire.
As noted, Ukrainian personnel will learn how to teach life-saving battlefield first aid to other members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine when they return to the front line.
