Russia reduces activity of sabotage and reconnaissance groups along border, says Demchenko

Russia has reduced the activity of its sabotage and reconnaissance groups along the border of the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.

According to a Ukrinform correspondent, Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, announced this on television.

“Overall, over a very long period, the activity of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups has decreased. The enemy understands that its objective is different—it plans to create a buffer zone, and the use of infantry groups is more suitable for this,” Demchenko noted.

At the same time, he emphasized that the threat of sabotage and reconnaissance groups still exists.

“While this threat hasn’t completely vanished, there is currently no recorded activity on the scale previously observed,” said the State Border Guard Service spokesperson.
