Over 80 children remain in mandatory evacuation zone of Donetsk region

In the settlements of Donetsk region where mandatory evacuation of children is taking place, 42 families with 87 children are still remaining.

This was reported by the acting Head of the Department for Children’s Affairs of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Yulia Ryzhakova, during an online briefing, as reported by a Ukrinform correspondent.

"Currently, there are 87 children, representing 42 families, still residing in six settlements that are subject to mandatory evacuation," Ryzhakova stated.

She noted that the highest number of children remains in the settlements of Pokrovsk municipality, where 81 children from 37 families are still residing.

She further mentioned that the evacuation of children and families, which began in Donetsk region on April 7, 2023, continues, with 50 more children being evacuated over the past week, all from 36 families.

Ryzhakova clarified that the highest number of evacuations last week came from the Pokrovsk town territorial community, with 35 children evacuated, who are currently in 26 families.

It was also reported that approximately 316,000 civilians remain in the parts of Donetsk region currently controlled by the Ukrainian authorities.
