Kuleba calls for accelerating military assistance to Ukraine at EU Council meeting
Addressing the EU Foreign Affairs Council, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba emphasized the need to accelerate military assistance to Ukraine, including air defense, and to expand defense production.
The head of Ukrainian diplomacy said this in a post on the social media platform X, Ukrinform reports.
“Today, I addressed EU Foreign Affairs Council upon Josep Borrell invitation. I thanked 27 EU member states for approving Ukraine’s and Moldova’s negotiating frameworks. Our EU accession talks will kick off tomorrow,” Kuleba posted.
He also stressed the importance of the 14th EU sanctions package for further suppressing Putin's war economy and welcomed the EU's recent steps to use frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine.
“I also stressed the importance of the 14th EU sanctions package to further strangle Putin’s war economy and welcomed the EU’s latest steps to use frozen Russian assets for Ukraine’s benefit. We can and must defeat Russian aggression on Ukrainian soil to ensure long-term peace and stability throughout Europe,” Kuleba stressed.
As Ukrinform reported, EU foreign ministers at a meeting today in Luxembourg adopted the 14th package of sanctions against Russia over its aggression against Ukraine, which further increases pressure on Russian energy sector and contains measures to prevent attempts to circumvent European sanctions.
