Vadym Prystaiko appointed as Ukraine’s ambassador to UK

President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed former Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Kingdom.

"To appoint Vadym Prystaiko as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland," reads the President’s decree.

On June 4, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed a resolution dismissing Vadym Prystaiko from the post of Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.

Vadym Prystaiko was born in 1970. He graduated from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the Ukrainian Academy of Foreign Trade. Since 1994, Prystaiko has been working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in various positions.

Vadym Prystaiko served as Ukraine's Ambassador to Canada, Deputy Foreign Minister and headed the Mission of Ukraine to NATO.

In May 2019, Prystaiko was appointed as the Deputy Head of the Office of the President. In August 2019, he was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

On 4 March 2020, Vadym Prystaiko was appointed as the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine.
